Phased Array Antennas |
|
|
Bottom line: current technologies for Phased Array Antennas are very expensive. However, by utilizing our thin-film phase shifters, manufacturers can significantly reduce the cost of phased array technology by eliminating / replacing the PIN diode or MMIC type phase shifters. We believe that our dramatically reduced phase shifter cost will improve a phased array antenna's cost position by a factor of at least two.
Our ferroelectric phase shifters utilize technology developed at the University of California Santa Barbara under a program developed by a grant from the US Department of Defense. This created an ideal technology to fulfill the needs of military requirements, as well as burgeoning commercial markets.
Agile phase shifters reduce costs for a variety of client applications, including:
• Wideband services like video phones, interactive television, Internet Access Devices (IADs), and telemedicine
• Multipoint communication systems (10 - 60 GHz)
• Automotive radar (24 - 76 GHz), used for navigation, collision warning, cruise control, and pre-crash airbag sensing
• Satellite broadcasting systems (10.95 - 13.5 GHz)
• Vehicle based tracking systems for field, air, and ship born applications
