Dr. Elsass' primary responsibility
is for materials process and development. His experience includes
design and assembly of material deposition tools as well as
device fabrication in a cleanroom environment. Prior to his
doctorate work, he obtained industrial research, development,
and project management experience at the Dayton Power and
Light Company from 1993-96, serving as a materials engineer
and manager of the materials characterization lab where he
performed failure analysis and research on new materials.
His duties also included recommending and incorporating new
technologies in an electric power generating station, and
serving as project manager for contract work. He is co-founder
of Agile Materials and Technologies, Inc. He received a BS
degree in materials science and engineering from Purdue University
in 1993, and his PhD from the University of California at
Santa Barbara in the Materials Engineering Department in 2001.
His doctorate research involved growth and optimization electrical
properties in novel semiconductor materials.
